Nestled in the heart of Brooklyn’s vibrant 295 3rd Ave corridor, Baba's Pierogies offers a heartfelt celebration of Eastern European cuisine with a modern twist. This cozy, inviting restaurant is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic flavors delivered with warmth and care. Specializing in handmade pierogies, Baba’s serves up an enticing menu that skillfully blends tradition with inventive, flavor-packed creations.
The culinary star here is unquestionably the pierogi, with standout varieties like the Slovak Classic Bryndza and Potato Pierogies, which perfectly balance creamy, tangy bryndza cheese with pillowy potato filling. For those seeking comfort food that surprises, the Mac and Cheese Pierogies and Cheddar Jalapeño Pierogies bring a delightful richness and spice, while dessert lovers will find bliss in the Crunchy Chocolate Pierogies or the seasonal Pumpkin Pie Pierogies.
Beyond pierogies, Baba’s offers a tempting roster of Eastern European delights like the grilled pork Kielbasy served alongside Potato & Cheese Pierogies, and hearty sides including Sauerkraut Soup—a beloved Slovak specialty known as kapustová—and the vivid Golden Beet Salad. Sautéed mushrooms and Sloppy Kielbasy sandwiches add layers of smoky, savory goodness, perfect for those who crave robust, comforting flavors.
Dining here feels like a warm embrace. The ambiance is intimate and relaxed — a small, cozy setting where the friendly, attentive staff make you feel right at home, guiding guests through the menu with genuine enthusiasm. Many patrons rave about the convivial atmosphere, where every visit feels like catching up with old friends over bowls of freshly made pierogies and well-paired Czech beers.
Customers repeatedly highlight the thoughtful preparation and freshness that permeate every dish. The bacon and cheddar pan-fried pierogies, for instance, deliver an irresistibly crispy exterior layered with an indulgently cheesy, smoky center that lingers beautifully on the palate. Meanwhile, the combination of soft potato and gooey cheese in the Potato and Cheese Pierogies delights with every bite, enhanced further by a side of velvety caramelized onions — a topping that has quickly become a fan favorite.
While some note that the pricing leans toward the upscale side, most agree it’s a worthwhile indulgence for the genuine quality, care, and flavor-packed dishes they receive in return. The carefully curated cocktail and beer selection, featuring Czech pilsners and local favorites like Doc’s Apple Cider, complements the food perfectly, enhancing the overall dining experience.
Whether you’re popping in for a comforting meal, ordering takeaway to enjoy at home, or having your favorites delivered straight to your door, Baba’s Pierogies crafts an authentic taste of Eastern Europe with a flavorful, contemporary heartbeat. Don’t miss the chance to snag one of their charming Baba’s baseball caps or T-shirts, perfect keepsakes that embody the spirit of this neighborhood gem.
For anyone eager to explore a rich culinary tradition presented with passion and authenticity, Baba's Pierogies in Brooklyn is a place that invites you to slow down, savor deeply, and return again and again to discover new flavors and beloved classics alike.

Really enjoyed the food and the service. They were very friendly and attentive. I had the bacon and cheddar pan fried perogies. They were excellent. There were so many intriguing choices, that I plan to go back and try a variety of other dishes.
We’ve been to this place a few times over the years, and it’s always been an absolute delight! The small, cozy setting makes it feel like a warm and inviting place to dine. Our top picks are the boiled Mac & Cheese and the Spinach & Feta pierogies. We also tried the Sloppy Kielbasy Sandwich, which was a personal favorite, and the Kielbasy Sliders. Every dish we’ve ordered has been bursting with fresh flavors and perfectly balanced. It’s evident that this is a traditional pierogi establishment, and the quality is truly exceptional. The friendly staff adds to the overall experience, making it a highly recommended destination for anyone looking for delicious pierogies!
Baba’s Pierogies were really good—fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. That said, they’re also pretty overpriced for what you’re getting. The service was genuinely warm, and the space has a nice, casual vibe. Bonus points for a solid Czech pilsner on draft. But at the end of the day, it felt like a lot of money for what’s basically an upscale nibble. Would I go out of my way for them? Probably not. But if I’m in the area and craving pierogies, I wouldn’t hesitate to stop in.
Very warm and cute ambience, love this place! The staff are very friendly and helpful, service was great. We tried boiled bacon cheddar and the pan-fried mac and cheese pierogis, absolutely delicious! The bacon flavor hits you right off the bat with the combination of soft and cheesy potatoes. If you like onions, their caramelized onions are so superb that I can eat them on their own. The sour cream was a great addition to serve as a dip. Although, i wouldn’t recommend the sour cream and onions for the pan- fried mac and cheese as it overpowers the flavors. The pan-fried mac and cheese were fried to perfection. It has a crisp to the bite and a little softness as well. The mac and cheese was savory. We ended up going back to order more!
What a gem! Food was excellent, fresh and tasty. Service was quick, super nice and with plenty of information and advice on what to pair with our food to get the best experience (thanks May) ! The restaurant itself is small and welcoming— you can also order to take out. Prices are more than decent for such quality. Would absolutely recommend!
Found this place by accident because Finback weren't doing dumplings...but WOW I'm glad we did. The service was so kind, so friendly, just perfect. The pierogis were delicious. The portions were big. The space is nice. The prices are good. Faultless.
Heard about this cozy, busy spot from city councilmember Shahana Hanif’s instagram. Exceptional service, beautiful decor, crispy fluffy pierogies that stick to your ribs (try the jalapeño, they’re incredible). Five stars all around.
Friendly service, solid pierogis, and quick service! Simple spot that was empty when we entered at 6pm on a Monday, but had a line by 6:45. The surprise combo pierogis option lets you try multiple fillings in one order. Excited to return. :)
